About Me

Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Baylor University in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. Her first position after graduate school was here at Capitol School, where she taught Level 2. She went on to work for nine years in public schools with students ranging from preschool through high school. Melissa loves the community and support that Capitol School provides to both the staff and the students.

Melissa is originally from Houston, Texas, and moved to the Austin area after finishing graduate school. She moved around some between then and now, but her family is excited to be back and plant roots here. She loves spending time with her husband and two daughters, and enjoys cooking and reading.
