About Me

Mieke received her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico and holds her MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas. She is also Hanen certified and has her ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). Mieke joined our team in 2007. Her previous work included working for Round Rock ISD serving elementary-aged students and as a team member on the Transdisciplinary Play Based Assessment Team. She was also the co-owner of Language Workshop, a pediatric clinic in Round Rock.

Mieke loves working with her students in their natural learning environment, and she is extremely grateful for the daily collaborative work among her co-workers. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she moved to Austin 20+ years ago. Mieke loves spending time with her husband Mark and their two children Ford and Marlowe. They can often be found out and about with friends, swimming, kayaking, or relaxing watching Netflix.
